Meanwhile Ava urges Gwen to help her exact revenge on arrogant EJ. Jack states he must his support his daughter and help her avoid making the same mistakes. Jack stammers it was just the impression he had. Xander asks Jack if Gwen admitted to feelings for him. He hears she wants a job in Salem and knows not where to stay. Joey greets Wendy with a twirl and a hug. EJ does not entirely buy Johnny's about face with Ava and wonders whether he is the one presently being played. She finds his heroism attractive and takes a look at the hand that hit not one but two DiMeras on the same day. Tripp tries to make her feel better and smiles she read he saved another damsel in distress. Wendy would prefer a promotion in Salem to staying in Alaska but brother Li is old fashioned. He will file the papers to ensure their marriage is done for good. Gabi declares heartless Stefan is dead and signs.
Ava adds now Gabi is out and has her own probs. Meanwhile Ava senses Gwen still cares for Xander so Gwen changes the subject to Ava getting approached by Gabi to get Jake's shares. When Jack mentions the late nights of the paper employees Xander insists he loves only Sarah. She stares as he hands it to her to sign. Stefan goes first and makes a snide remark about being rid of Gabi. Li suggests he be the witness for Stefan and Gabi's divorce signatures. Tripp likes her just the amazing way she is.
Wendy knows her brother cares but wishes he would take her seriously. Wendy hears Tripp's story about Li saving him from the wrath of EJ since he and Joey helped Wendy in Hong Kong. Xander knows there are more positions but papa Jack cannot risk them clashing. Jack admits he offered Gwen a job at the paper. Gwen recognizes the ring that Xander once gave her. Ava blames Gabi for the marriage lie that blew up and argues she and Jake would have wed anyway. Johnny complains she only used him to get to EJ, who was totally right. He has seen the light that EJ was right about Ava the scammer. EJ starts to yell so smart Johnny announces he is here to apologize. Gwen worriedly wonders wot she did to anger the DiMera. Jack admits his reason for not being able to hire him is Gwen. Xander the man of scandals feels sorry for himself to the point of pouring himself a hospital coffee. Stefan coldly states when signed, Gabi and Li can live happily ever after. Li is irate when he realizes Stefan's mysterious errand was to give Gabi divorce papers. Son remembers he was seeking the password for Wendy and bites his lip. Father catches son and demands to know wot he is doing. Prodigal son Johnny searches papa EJ's papers. Wendy discusses Ava's disappearance with Tripp, who blames EJ. Ava swears Gwen to secrecy about seeing her cos she was booted out of Salem. Jack is surprised Xander seeks a Spectator position.
